This Device Will Let You Use Rainwater for Everything

Water DropsWe’ve talked a lot about rainwater harvesting here on this blog. That’s why we wanted to call your attention to the fact that the Rain Safe Water Company has created a device which would allow any homeowner to derive 100% of their water use needs from rainwater harvesting.

The device is called the Rain Safe , just like the company name. Unfortunately, you can’t just run up to the website to buy one yet. You’ll have to wait until they find some distributors here in the states.

The device uses UV filtration to get the job done. You just hook it up to any existing water harvesting system. You can then run the treated rain water right through your faucet. It’s not very big, so it doesn’t have to take up a whole lot of space in your home.

We’ll be keeping an eye out to see when the device may become available for sale. Just imagine what would happen if most of the homes in Florida were able to take advantage of this technology! We could ease the burden on our aquifiers that way, and perhaps avert a major water crisis in our state.

It’s certainly worth thinking about.
