Are You Prepared for Hurricane Season in 2014?
Hurricane season started yesterday, so we thought we’d take a moment to investigate what this year’s forecast looks like. After all, staying informed is the first step towards getting prepared.
Don’t Let the Quiet Fool You
It’s been 8 years since the last hurricane struck our shores. But as The Miami Herald points out, Florida is still the state that is statistically the most likely to be struck by a hurricane.
So it stands to reason that our lucky streak has to end sometime, and 2014 could be the year.
There’s Still Good News
Forecasters are predicting just 8 to 13 named storms this year, so we could get lucky again (even if that means other states are not so lucky).
We may get to enjoy year 9 of a hurricane free existence!
