How Mosquito Misting Systems Can Help You Take Back Your Yard

mosquito-misting-systemsA couple weeks ago we spent some time talking about how to get rid of mosquitoes in your back yard. One of the solutions we briefly mentioned was a mosquito misting system. We wanted to take a moment to delve into these systems a little bit more.

This system works on a series of pumps that can be installed in various places in your yard. You can place landscape risers around your landscaping or you can attach misting nozzles to your fence.

At various intervals that you control with a timer the system pumps Pyrethrum through the air. Pyrethrum is actually a very safe insecticide that’s derived from Chrysanthemum flowers.

It’s biodegradable and water based, and attacks both adult mosquitoes and their eggs. It also works on other problematic summer insects like fleas and ticks.

You won’t have to install the system yourself. Mosquito misting contractors handle that so that it’s covering your yard in a safe, effective way.

Given how everyone in our service area is getting eaten alive this year it’s no surprise that there are so many people offering these safe, effective systems.

Don’t forget, of course, to attack the mosquito problem from every possible angle. A clogged gutter holds plenty of standing water, acting like a condominium for these pests to breed and grow. There’s no sense putting in a mosquito misting system if you’re going to leave them any kind of a safe haven to breed and thrive.
