Now this trend is exploding into gardens and landscapes as well, thanks to this nifty water saving gadget called the Droplet Sprinkler. It’s a pre-release item that automates your ability to water your plants.

And while we don’t think you should use a robot to clean your gutters , the little garden robot is pretty cool. You attach it to your hose, use a phone or computer to input information about your plants, and let it move around your yard, deciding when, where, and how much to water.

It pulls online data from weather stations to know that it rained yesterday, which means it won’t go out and do its job when the lawn is already soaked.

This little gadget can replace your entire sprinkler system. The manufacturers also note that it can shave $200/year off of your water bill, which means that the device will be able to pay for itself in just 2 years.
